Since 1984 I am engaged in teaching and research at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the Department of Zoology first as lecturer (1984-1987) and later on as Assistant Professor (1987-1993), Associate Professor (1993-1997) and Professor (1997 to till now). I have supervised 36 M.S. Thesis and 27 M.S. projects; one Ph.D., one M.Phil thesis students and presently supervising one Ph.D., one M.Phil. and nine M.S. thesis students. I have received BTA (British Technical Assistance) Award by British Council in 1989, Research and Teaching Assistantship at Aberdeen University (Scotland) in 1990, FZSB Fellowship award by Zoological Society of Bangladesh in 1998. Attended international seminars at Aberdeen, UK and presented three papers during 1990, 1991 and 1992 on the effects of azadirachtin and analogues upon feeding, midgut histology and toxicology of locusts. I have run the Department of Zoology, University of Chittagong as chairman during 2001-2004.
